Designing an engagement ring is one of the most considered decisions you will ever make, and we wanted the experience of designing it to feel as thoughtful as the piece itself. The builder moves you through five unhurried steps, from choosing a setting to reviewing your finished design, and every decision along the way stays yours to change. This guide walks you through each step, so you know exactly what to expect before you begin.
Step 1: Select your setting
Your setting is the foundation of your ring. It gives the design its silhouette, holds your diamond, and shapes how the finished piece sits against your hand, so it is the natural place to begin.
Browse our curated range of designs and let them guide your thinking. You can filter by setting style, diamond shape, band type, and metal colour, which means you can move from a broad sense of what you love to a shortlist of two or three designs within a few minutes. If you already know you want a solitaire on a slim band, the filters take you straight there. If you are still discovering your taste, the full range is yours to explore without pressure.
A practical note: we design each setting around a diamond shape, and the builder carries that choice through to the diamond step. Choosing an oval setting here means you will see oval diamonds later, so consider the shape alongside the style rather than after it.
Step 2: Customise your design
With your setting chosen, the design becomes yours in the details. Here you select your precious metal, metal karat, band width, and ring size.
We craft every setting in yellow gold, white gold, rose gold, or platinum, with two-tone pairings of white and yellow gold or white and rose gold for those who love a contrast. If you choose gold, you can also decide between 14K and 18K. Both are fine jewellery metals made for a lifetime of wear; 18K carries a richer colour, while 14K offers a slightly firmer alloy for everyday life. Neither is the wrong choice. The right one is the colour and character you want to see on your hand for decades.
Band width is a quiet decision with a visible effect. A finer band lets the diamond lead, while a slightly wider band gives the ring more presence and a more grounded feel. For ring size, choose the size you know, or the one you are most confident in. If you are unsure, you can request a complimentary ring sizer and measure at home, and every ring includes one complimentary resize, so a small adjustment after delivery is never a concern.
Step 3: Select your diamond
This is the step where the process truly feels involving. Your diamond is the heart of the ring, and here you choose it stone by stone rather than from a description.
Explore our range of IGI and GIA certified lab-grown diamonds, curated with intention by our co-founder Olivia. You can choose between colourless and coloured diamonds, then refine the results by carat weight, colour, and clarity until the selection reflects what matters most to you. Every stone you see meets our standards before it reaches the builder, so you are choosing between beautiful options rather than searching for one.
Then comes the part we love most. You can review each diamond individually, with a video of the actual stone and a copy of its certificate, before you commit. You see the exact diamond that will sit in your ring, verified by an independent laboratory, and you choose it with complete confidence. Lab-grown diamonds are real diamonds, chemically, physically, and optically identical to mined diamonds, and the certificate in front of you documents precisely that.
A practical example: if you are drawn to a 1.5 carat oval and want the brightest possible stone, set the colour filter to D to F and the clarity filter to VS1 and above, then compare the videos. The differences between stones become clear on screen, and the right one tends to reveal itself.
Step 4: Personalise your ring
We make every ring to order, but this is the step that makes it entirely yours. Here you add the sentimental touch that turns a beautiful design into your design.
You can choose a complimentary engraving inside the band: a date, a name, a word that belongs only to the two of you. Or you can choose Something Blue, a single blue sapphire concealed beneath the setting where only you know to look, the oldest of bridal traditions kept as a secret. Both are quiet, meaningful details that live with the ring through every ordinary morning and every extraordinary milestone, seen by no one and cherished by two.
If you prefer the design exactly as it is, you can move straight through. Personalisation is an invitation, never a requirement.
Step 5: Your ring summary
Before you complete your order, the builder presents a full summary of your ring, outlining each decision you made along the way: setting, metal, karat, band width, size, diamond, and any personal touches.
Take your time here. Review the design and your bespoke customisations, and if anything feels less than certain, simply return to any earlier step and change it. Nothing locks until you decide it does. You also choose your crafting timeframe on this page. Standard crafting takes six to seven weeks and is complimentary; priority crafting brings that forward to four to five weeks for a small additional cost, and the builder shows you the dates your ring will be completed between as you choose.
Once you are happy, your ring moves to our workshop, where our jewellers craft it to order and finish it with the same intention you brought to designing it.

Are the diamonds in the builder real diamonds?
Yes. Every stone in the builder is a lab-grown diamond certified by IGI or GIA. Lab-grown diamonds share the same chemical, physical, and optical properties as mined diamonds, and you can view the certificate for each stone before you choose it.
Which metals can I choose?
Yellow gold, white gold, rose gold, and platinum. Gold settings are available in 14K or 18K.
What if I am not sure of the ring size?
Choose the size you are most confident in, or request a complimentary ring sizer from the builder and measure at home. Every ring includes one complimentary resize, so we can adjust the fit after delivery if needed.
Is engraving included?

What is the hidden sapphire?
